Apply Now: Green Alley Award 2015

The green economy start-up award from Green Alley and Seedmatch is now international, with new partners in the UK

The Green Alley Award is Europe's only award for entrepreneurs and start-ups working in the circular economy. Green entrepreneurs with sustainable economy ideas and new ways of looking at waste as a resource can apply for the award at: www.green-alley-award.com until the 15th of September 2015.

The most convincing candidates will be invited to the final in Berlin (4th November 2015) and will present their business ideas in a live pitch to an international audience. An expert jury will then select the winner of the Green Alley Award 2015, who will be rewarded with a package of benefits and services worth up to 15,000 pounds.

The prize package includes:

  • A cash prize of 7,000 euros
  • Individual workshops with green economy experts and mentors from the start-up scene
  • 6 months rent-free workspace in Berlin, including basic infrastructure
  • Access to an international network of experts and other start-ups in the field of waste, recycling and the environment
  • The opportunity to obtain funding from investment or crowdfunding

The award was launched in 2014 by Berlin green economy investor Green Alley and the leading German crowdfunding platform Seedmatch. Now Green Alley and Seedmatch want to expand their search for green entrepreneurs and start-ups across Europe and have developed a new partnership with two organisations from the start-up metropolis of London. Together with the European Recycling Platform (ERP) UK and London's tech for good accelerator Bethnal Green Ventures, Green Alley and Seedmatch are searching for innovative products, services or technologies that recycle waste, conserve resources and raise awareness of the issue of recycling.

The two start-up cities of Berlin and London are representative of the emerging start-up scene in Europe. Both cities can benefit from each other, not only in the field of start-up activities, but also in the field of the green economy. Our goal is to connect London and Berlin and together create innovations in the European circular economy. Therefore for this year’s award we invite applications not only from startups and entrepreneurs in the UK and Germany, but also from across Europe. Applications must be submitted in English and before September 15th at www.green-alley-award.com.

Their application guide (http://www.green-alley-award.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Application-Guidelines_Green-Alley-Award-2015.pdf) shows what content should be included in your application.
