Free anti-bullying training for the children’s workforce in Oxfordshire

  • Are you a children’s workforce professional?
  • Would you like free training about how to reduce bullying among children?

The Anti-Bullying Alliance is working with Oxfordshire County Council from April 2017 to October 2018 to become an All Together Area and work to reduce bullying of children in schools. As part of this, they are offering free training to schools and the wider children’s workforce in Oxfordshire.

Training available to the wider children’s workforce will cover:

  • Bullying and its impact on children and young people
  • Bullying and the law
  • Children and young people with SEND and bullying – what does the evidence tell us?
  • A social model approach to anti-bullying
  • Challenging disablist language and hate speech
  • How to apply this to your role

Anyone working with schools and children is welcome to attend, such as:

  • Social workers
  • Healthcare professionals
  • Youth Offending teams
  • Early Years providers
  • Post-16 providers
  • Youth workers
  • School Governors
  • Information, Advice and Support Workers
  • LCSBs
  • School staff (we have a wider programme for schools but you can send extra members of staff on this course)

What is All Together?

The All Together programme has been developed over the last three years and builds upon the work of the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s previous special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) anti-bullying champion programme which saw significant positive results.

The programme includes a special focus on reducing bullying of disabled children and those with SEND but aims to reduce bullying of all children and young people. It is funded by the Department for Education and delivered by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, with support from the Council for Disabled Children, Contact a Family and Achievement for All.
