Title
Hagbourne Hill Travel Bulletin - 15.1.16
What you need to know
- First stage of work now complete
- This weekend the traffic management will change
Work to lower Hagbourne Hill between Chilton village and Chilton Road junction was completed in December and this section of the road is now open. Traffic calming has been constructed in Chilton Road at Upton and a 40 mph limit has been implemented in Chilton Road.
Next stage of work
Work has now started on constructing the new roundabout at the junction of Hagbourne Hill and the A417 at west Hagbourne. At the moment we are carrying out site clearance and topsoil stripping and soon will be installing drainage and kerbs in order to construct the roundabout itself.
The work is currently being done under traffic light control. This coming weekend, the traffic management will be changed so that all traffic on the A417 is switched to the eastbound lane, with no access into Hagbourne Hill. Traffic needing to access Hagbourne Hill will be diverted along the A417 to Upton and then to Hagbourne Hill by Chilton Road.
Keeping up to date
This phase of work will last until August. We will keep you up to date with traffic management changes as work progresses.
