OxLEP joins forces with Barclays at economic update event
Yesterday (16 May), OxLEP chief executive Nigel Tipple featured as a panellist at a special economic update event, hosted by Barclays.
In front of business leaders from across the south of England, Nigel took part in an economic ‘Q and A’ alongside David Smith – the economics editor for the Sunday Times – who was also a guest speaker at the event, held at Jurys Inn, north Oxford.
The event was hosted by Barclays’ head of corporate and business banking for the Thames Valley – Trevor French.
Nigel said: “We were delighted to partner with Barclays at this event, which focussed on the economic outlook for Oxfordshire and our wider region.
“Oxfordshire operates in a globally competitive arena and it is our aim to support the creation of conditions that continue to make our county the location of choice for both world-leading businesses and start-up businesses too.
“In turn, creating these conditions support targets and aspirations outlined in our strategic economic plan, including the creation of 85,600 jobs for Oxfordshire by 2031 – of which, over half have already been created.”
