Title

Take part in the 2018 Oxfordshire Science and Innovation Audit (SIA)

To inform the UK government’s strategy and investments in; science and innovation to 2030, transformational economic growth, social benefit and industrial impact – contributors and stakeholders in Oxfordshire’s science and innovation strengths are invited to participate in a Science and Innovation Audit (SIA) capitalising and expanding on the region’s first audit.

SIA is a Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) process to describe UK innovation strengths – mapped to regions – with long-term funding and benefit propositions.

SIA takes a consortium approach. Audits analyse regional capacity and innovation excellence – including evidential analyses of workforce and industry/economic data – to justify investment propositions.

The call document (downloadable via the ‘Resources’ section) describes the national SIA process and roles and provides further information.

Up to four sectors/technologies will be progressed in Oxfordshire’s next SIA round. Industry-focussed partnerships are encouraged to apply.

Those taken forward will work in a group with the other sector-leads and with the experienced SIA leads of the University of Oxford, Oxford Brookes University, the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) and other regions/LEPs and stakeholders.

SIA report production takes between three and six months –  after which, the findings on investment propositions are pursued.

Activities will integrate with the sectoral development initiatives being pursued following the region’s first SIA.

Expressions of Interest – of up to three sides of A4 – are invited by 5pm on Monday 27 November 2017.

Please send expressions of interest to Matt Smart – Project Officer, University of Oxford Knowledge Exchange and Impact Team – via: matthew.smart@admin.ox.ac.uk.
