Unemployment figures continue to fall in Oxfordshire

The number of people unemployed in Oxfordshire has dropped for the sixth month in a row.

August's unemployment figures revealed that there are now less than 6,000 people claiming Job Seeker's Allowance in the county.

This is a drop of nearly 1,500 people since February of 2013 and a fall of 4,000 since its peak in 2009.

The figures have been reported by Oxfordshire County Council's Economy and Skills Team.

The team will be producing a Quarterly Labour Market Intelligence Briefing from December of this year which will include the latest unemploment figures, alongside other key economic data.
