The Universal Biotech 6th Innovation Prize has opened to submissions this month.

A combined award of a grant and consulting services, together worth €50,000, is offered to the most innovative project in the field of biotechnology.

In 2014, the prize targets medicines, medical devices, medical technologies and e-health solutions.

Academic researchers in the field of Life Sciences, and representatives from young companies (less than ten years old) are invited to apply.

The award is given to projects for services or products that are under development at the time of submission - products or services that have already been commercialized are not considered.

Project Evaluation is based upon:

• The scientific quality of the innovation described.
• The intellectual property strategy.
• The quality of human resources.
• The project feasibility (including market access strategy).
• The chances of success on the market (including positioning, competitive edge).

The prize ceremony will be held on 6 October 2014.

The deadline for submissions is 19 April 2014
