Venturefest is teaming up with Ignite, a social impact investment fund backed by Centrica that focuses on energy to make a clear difference in people’s lives. At their Roadshow event on 20th April 2015, in Oxford, a panel of experts will offer 1:1 coaching and hear pitches from applicants who have been successful in earlier rounds.

Among the judges on the day will be Venturefest Board member Martine Benoit (Managing Director of ON Communication). A colleague of Martine, John Simmons (RPS Energy Principal Advisor, Communication Group), will also help to judge the finalists and will provide coaching on communicating technical topics and public engagement.

Commenting on the event, Martine says “Centrica’s Ignite and Venturefest both want to promote winning ideas and entrepreneurs. Taking part in the Ignite Roadshow will bring about positive change in people’s life.”

Martine and the judging panel will be looking for the most successful pitches that will receive a package of pre-investment support.

Ignite is also working with the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School and the Oxford Launchpad, the Low Carbon Hub, Oxfordshire Social Enterprise Partnership and Oxfordshire Business Support.
