Title

Frideswide Square & Oxford Station Travel Bulletin - 31.7.15

What you need to know

Construction on phase 2 is now underway on the south side of the square, outside the Park End Street businesses.

The move to phase two represents another major milestone in the project and anyone visiting the site will now be able to see how the new-look Frideswide Square is shaping up.

Traffic can now drive along the newly constructed boulevard and can use both Park End Street and Hythe Bridge Street, in both directions. The temporary bus stops continue to be situated on Park End Street.

Most construction activities are predominately in the south of the square and include installing drainage connections and excavating for tree pits and planters.

Some Phase 1 work to build the new footway outside the Saïd Business School and install the enhanced street furniture such as the granite benches is still underway.

Extended working hours

For this next major phase we are extending our working hours to carry out the extensive construction in the area.

From Monday 3 August and until completion of the scheme the working hours will be: Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6pm Saturday 7.30am to 4pm

Occasionally we may work evenings and Sundays but we will advise of this beforehand.

 Businesses open as usual

The businesses along Park End Street will remain open throughout the duration of the works so please do visit them as you walk through.
