Traffic information

• Hagbourne Hill will remain closed throughout the first phase of this scheme, except for residents and businesses
• The diversion continues to be via Rowstock roundabout

The county council is also working on transport improvements on the A34 at Milton and at Chilton and it is possible that these schemes will affect your journey if you plan to travel through the area. 

Progress so far

We are underway with Phase 1 of the scheme which involves lowering the crest of the hill between Chilton Road and Chilton Village. Phase 1 is progressing well. To date we have carried out site clearance, diverted existing utilities and we are currently improving the drainage.
 So far we have also excavated approximately 3500m³ of material which is made up of stone and chalk.
