• It is 57 miles from Oxford to central London, and it takes around one hour to travel there by train. In the morning there are five trains every hour from Oxford to London Paddington.
• Birmingham is accessible by road and rail. Oxford to Birmingham Airport is 66 miles, about one hour's drive time via the M40.
• The ferry port of Southampton is around 68 miles away, almost directly south of Oxford and just over one hour;s drive time via the A34.

Oxfordshire is part of the Thames Valley, the second most important economic area in the UK after London and the fifth most important economic area in the European Union.

Transport links will continue to improve over the next few years with more business flights into Oxford Airport and improvements in the transport infrastructure around the Science Vale UK business parks south of Oxford.
