Would you like to start your own business? Got an idea and need to know what to do next? Building a Business is a six-week lecture series designed to teach the fundamentals of developing a business.
Building a Business is a six-week evening lecture series taking place each autumn, which provides basic business skills to those who would like to start a business, and those with an existing early stage business who are seeking to develop and enhance their skills. It covers good business practice with a focus on science and technology enterprise, but most course material is relevant to general business practice.
Location
All lectures will take place at Saïd Business School, Park End St, Oxford OX1 1HP.

Who is it for?
Building a Business is open to anyone who would like to gain an understanding of the fundamentals of business practice, particularly if they plan to start an enterprise of their own.
The series covers basic business principals and introduces the key concepts of starting a business. It is not aimed at established entrepreneurs or businesses; the lecture content is aimed at people who have limited prior knowledge of business practice.

You can now register your interest in attending Building a Business 2016; full registration for the course will open shortly.
Fees
Building a Business is available to university students for free.
The fee for external participants is £200, payable in advance of the start of the lecture series.
Certification
The Building a Business Certificate of Attendance will be given to participants who attend at least five of the six lectures. The certificate of attendance will only be available for participants who have attended the lectures in person. It is not possible to issue the certificate for those who have downloaded the series online.
