David Martin is the Operations Director for the UK Atomic Energy Authority and Head of Operations and Programme Delivery Division. Prior to this he led the Engineering Department that he formed in 2008.

David is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers who moved to Culham upon completing his Harwell apprenticeship (Instrument Maker) in 1979. David has held many technical and management posts during his career at Culham. In 2013 he was appointed Operations Director. David is committed to staff development and has established many of the development schemes presently being run at CCFE, e.g. Apprentice and Graduate Training, Professional Development Schemes accredited by the IET, IMechE, Engineering Outreach and membership of the Power Academy.
