Network Navigators
Our Network Navigators are our ambassadors for Oxfordshire businesses. They signpost people and businesses towards local and national support and have excellent knowledge and expertise within different specialised sectors.
Shaun Fagan is Wet Zebra’s director of marketing and social media strategy, and is the founder of Black Dog New Media. He has extensive experience in software development, business analytics, and event and project management.
Prior to this, Shaun sampled engineering through to nursing, as well as launching several start-up ventures along the way.
Shaun is widely lauded for his work in the digital sphere, and was one of a few 'outstanding individuals' singled out by the GB High Street competition organisers for his 'outstanding contribution' to Chipping Norton High Street and the Experience Chipping Norton campaign.
Bernard has enjoyed a lifetime of managing business relationships from most sectors and in varying economic conditions, and a wide experience of working alongside business owners and supporting their financial needs.
Since leaving banking, Bernard has been offering advice and support to local businesses in Oxfordshire, dedicated to assisting them with their challenges in financing, sales and marketing, people and process management. His services have included raising equity, debt and grant funds, developing Business Plans and strategies, developing marketing plans and people management.
Sam's research focus is on SMEs, energy and government policy, and builds on a professional background of advising large corporations, small businesses, charities and governments on resource efficiency. He has worked on carbon footprinting, water conservation and packaging efficiency, and most recently managed three projects targeted at supporting SMEs to reduce emissions and increase competitiveness.
Grant has developed a passion for social enterprise and a responsible approach to business, gained through a successful career at board level and as a business owner as well as more recently working in the voluntary sector. Working with key people across all sectors, Grant has developed a specialism for collaboration, constantly seeking synergies and ways organisations and individuals can develop relationships and leverage under-utilised resources, skills and opportunities.
Tina loves working with businesses and helping them to grow. Her career spans global marketing leadership and management for large medical corporate organisations, through to working with small businesses and start-ups. Complimenting this with her own experience of running a small business, Creating Sense, Tina has the insight and best practice needed to enable SMEs to learn from, and of course level the playing field in a variety of ways, to that of their larger counterparts.
Tina is also a Business & Marketing Lecturer for Apprentices.
Oxfordshire Business Enterprises are a not for profit organisation who provide free and impartial advice to help people to start a business. They provide support on a wide range of business issues; from self-employment to forming a company, and from marketing to book-keeping.
OBE bring together experienced business advisors with people anywhere in the Oxfordshire area seeking help either in starting a business or in the early stages of running one. In the last twenty years OBE have helped over 20,000 people considering a business venture in Oxfordshire.
Caroline has been responsible for co-ordinating the University of Oxford Social Enterprise scheme since January 2012 and has been actively involved with partners at Oxford Brookes University, Oxford Student Hub and UnLtd.to support a national network of social entrepreneurs. Prior to joining the University of Oxford, Caroline worked in the not-for-profit sector as a Senior Manager and Chief Executive, leading organisations through turnaround, start-up and growth as well as mentoring for small charities and social enterprises.
The lead organisation for promoting and developing leisure, business and cultural tourism. Non-profit, with 170 member businesses, and partnerships with strategic bodies, EO aims to create an environment which will enable businesses to flourish.
Stephen is passionate about space and linking people and businesses, having worked in the industry as a business developer, precision pointing system engineer and programmatic analyst. Stephen’s experience includes government, commercial, and international space organisations with previous roles at The Aerospace Corporation and current roles with the Space Generation Advisory Council. Stephen is now employed as Oxfordshire Space Cluster Development Manager at the Science Technology and Facilities Council (STFC), helping to further bolster Space activities within the county.
John Vandore is Manager of the Cryox Brand - Cryogenic Technology from the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). John studied Engineering, later adding an MBA, and from an initial career in Product Planning and International Sales and Marketing in the automotive industry, he moved into General Management in Flow Control, running and acquiring manufacturing and distribution companies in the UK and North America. Back in the UK, John bought in to a small Cryogenics company in Oxfordshire, and is centrally involved in the exceptional Cryogenic Community in the UK and internationally.
Vale4Business work with businesses in the Vale of White Horse, and help them to get established and access support in the district.
Will Barton is the Economic Development Officer for West Oxfordshire District Council. Will works with businesses in West Oxfordshire and helps them to get established and access support in the district.
SO Business work with businesses in South Oxfordshire, and help them to get established and access support in the district.
Cherwell District Council's Economic Development team work with businesses in North Oxfordshire and help them to get established and access support in the district.
The Economic Development Team for Oxford City provides businesses with information, intelligence and advice regarding any aspect of doing business in Oxford.
