Oxfordshire LEADER Funding Increased
Oxfordshire LEADER funding grant limit increased.
Our maximum grant limit just got higher. Yes it is now up to £100,000 with the chance for exceptional projects to apply for more. When we say exceptional we mean a project that offers great economic benefits such as high job creation or one that fits well with our local priorities.
Oxfordshire LEADER is one of eighty LEADER areas which deliver the programme.
Each area has a Local Action Group (LAG) formed of locally appointed representatives of the private, public and third sectors. Each LAG have their own Local Development Strategy (LDS) which informs local priorities. Oxfordshire LEADER local priorities are to:
- Grow, sell and eat more local food: Equipment and facilities to process, sell and eat local food and drink. Education enterprises and events that promote locally-produced food, healthy eating and waste reduction.
- Create vibrant villages: Community enterprises and facilities that generate income to be self-sustaining, increase visitors to the area, provide a community hub and support the most vulnerable groups such as the elderly, unemployed and families.
- Revive our rivers and canal: Projects that support boating, cycling, walking, cafes, festivals, accommodation and improved infrastructure on the rivers and canal.
- Unlock the potential of woodlands: Equipment for forestry businesses and wood-using businesses to increase productivity and develop new markets that will improve the demand and management of local wood.
Oxfordshire LEADER is administered by a Programme Manager and an Admin and Finance Officer. Applications are reviewed by the Oxfordshire LAG every two months to make grant decisions. The team works closely with the RPA to ensure compliance with national and European requirements.
