Professor Sean Wellington began his career as an Apprentice and then Engineering Technician with Marconi Defence System before moving to higher education.  He has since held a number of leadership and management roles in universities and was appointed Associate Dean Strategy and Development in the Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment at Oxford Brookes University in June 2011.

Sean holds the following degrees: BEng (Hons), MPhil and PhD (all Engineering) and MBA Higher Education Management.  His research interests include higher education policy and practice, digital signal processing and information fusion, and he has published widely in these areas.

Sean is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).  He is currently Chair of the IET Academic Accreditation Committee and Governor of Abingdon and Witney College.

Outside work Sean is a keen distance runner and also enjoys listening to live music.
