Title

European Satellite Navigation Competition - deadline 30th June

Having started in 2004 with three partner regions, the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) has since grown into a leading global network of innovation and expertise in the field of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Its annual search for new services, products, and business innovations in this sector is designed to encourage the use of satellite navigation in everyday life.

Each year, the ESNC's global partner regions as well as key institutional stakeholders award prizes worth around EUR 1 million - including cash, business incubation, coaching, patent consulting, prototyping and marketing support, access to customers and user communities, and publicity in the world's leading satellite navigation network. More than 130 partners, including the most relevant European GNSS stakeholders, support participants in taking the next step with their business cases. Since its inception, the competition has welcomed more than 9,000 participants from 4,263 registered teams and chosen a total of 241 winners. Many of these business cases have already been implemented and successfully brought to market.

A network of more than 240 international experts from industry, research, and politics is entrusted with evaluating the submitted ideas in the ESNC. In the 2015 edition, more than 20 Regional Prizes and 6 Special Prizes will be awarded. All of the winners will then be recognised on stage at an Awards Ceremony to be held in autumn 2015. The ESNC's overall winner will be selected from among all the regional and special prize winners by an international panel of experts. The chosen entrant will be revealed at the Awards Ceremony and granted an additional cash prize of EUR 20,000, along with the opportunity to realise the winning idea as part of a six-month incubation programme in the region of their choice.

The submission phase of the 12th ESNC will run from 1 April to 30 June 2016.
