Title
Hagbourne Hill Travel Bulletin - 20.5.16
Traffic Information
- Between Monday 23 and Friday 27 May, throughout each day, we will be carrying out carriageway surfacing on the A417 from the new roundabout towards Upton. This work requires us to remove the existing carriageway surface and lay the new surface. Because this area is narrow and we need to be able to keep traffic flowing safely, we will be installing two way traffic lights and a vehicle convoy system whereby we control the speed of the traffic traveling through the work area
- Traffic lights will be removed over the bank holiday weekend, however traffic management will remain in place for safety reasons
- From Tuesday 31 May, we will be re-installing 3-way traffic lights, controlling the traffic traveling along the A417 from both the east and the west and traffic from West Hagbourne via Main Street. These lights will remain in place until Friday 10 June whilst we complete the work to the roundabout, footpaths and verges. During this time we will also complete the installation of the signs and the new lighting columns.

Update
Since our last update, the work on the A417 and Hagbourne Hill has progressed significantly. We have continued with installing the drainage on the A417 and the surfacing on the main carriageway and the footways are also ongoing.
The installation of the kerbs on the east side of the new roundabout is now complete and ready to be resurfaced in the next week. We have also finished installing all of the new lighting columns and will be working on the connections in the coming weeks as well as installing new signage in the area.
Over the next couple of weeks we will be finishing the construction of the new roundabout and we will also be carrying out landscaping to the verges of both the A417 and Hagbourne Hill. The landscaping includes the planting of 28 oak trees in the area where the old Hagbourne Hill road was and the planting of new hedges.
We expect the main work on the A417 to be complete by the 10th June. The final phase of works will be on Hagbourne Hill. The whole scheme is expected to be complete and fully open by the end of June 2016.
