Oxfordshire has an exceptionally high concentration of world-leading companies and organisations in a range of key sectors. This makes it an exciting area to start or grow a business, but also challenging to navigate through the help that is available. Network navigator roles offer just this support.

This role offers a unique opportunity to share your expertise with new and growing businesses in the Oxfordshire area, and to help them access the wealth of business support that is available through your existing network.

It’s an extremely rewarding role, with huge potential to make a real impact on these businesses. You will help them succeed and grow, whilst playing your part in contributing to the local community, and championing an Oxfordshire that encourages and supports innovation.

As a flexible, part-time role, it is ideal for anyone with an understanding of these sectors and a bountiful supply of enthusiasm.

Network Navigator - Digital Media and Creative

Network Navigators are part-time positions, working with individuals and businesses across Oxfordshire, and requiring a flexible working pattern. There are no direct staff responsibilities, although there is a requirement to call upon the resources of the central OBS team and other external partners. This will involve a high degree of influencing, delegation, planning and coordination of tactics, tasks and opportunities.

Network navigators should:  

  • provide real and meaningful business support

as well as

  • attend business network meetings across Oxfordshire to meet and engage with the business community  
  • support, encourage and promote Oxfordshire as a place to locate and do business, to companies considering relocation or expansion, including articulating the value of the cluster and Oxfordshire's 'offer' to businesses  
  • refer into the OBS support, such as workshops, events, grant funding etc.  
  • attend the quarterly JOBS (Joint Oxfordshire Business Support) meetings to update and inform the group of current activities and opportunities  
  • attend Network Navigator meetings
  • champion and promote OBS as the Growth Hub of Oxfordshire.  
  • share success stories with OBS where businesses/individuals have benefitted from the support received  
  • work across sectors (i.e. how many businesses supported were cross sector)  
  • report all activities accurately through the Network Navigator log via our master vendor RedQuadrant
